WHITE PLAINS, Md. — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting involving officers that occurred in the 7300 block of Tottenham Drive, White Plains, Maryland.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office confirmed no officers were injured during the incident. Initially, the individual involved was transported to the hospital in critical condition. However, approximately two hours later, the sheriff’s office reported that the person had succumbed to their injuries.
The incident, which was first disclosed by authorities at 5:13 p.m. on Friday, remains under investigation.
Details about the events leading up to the shooting, including the number of officers involved, have not yet been disclosed.
In compliance with state law, the Maryland Independent Investigations Division has launched an investigation into the matter.
