PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — A pedestrian was struck and killed shortly after midnight on Wednesday in Prince George’s County, and the driver fled the scene. Police are now seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect.
Authorities say officers responded around 12:15 a.m. to a report of a pedestrian-involved crash near Wheeler Road and Birchtree Lane. When they arrived, they discovered an unresponsive man lying in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has not yet been identified, and the driver involved did not stay at the scene. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances of the crash and are reviewing surveillance footage from the area.
