Maryland Police Hunt for Sex Trafficking Offender Who Fled Ankle Monitor

ROCKVILLE, Md. — Montgomery County Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 35-year-old man convicted of sex trafficking and prostitution who escaped from a court-ordered ankle monitor 10 months ago.

Ernest Gerald Wilkerson had been on pre-trial release when he removed his ankle monitor in March 2024. An arrest warrant was issued for him five days later.

According to MCPD, the Pre-Trial Services Unit was notified that the device had been tampered with, and Wilkerson has been missing ever since.

Wilkerson was fitted with the monitor after being convicted in February 2024 on two counts of sex trafficking and two related prostitution charges. Since March, authorities have been searching for him for failing to comply with pre-trial conditions following his conviction.

Police are urging anyone with information about Wilkerson’s location to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County, Md., via their website.

Court records show Wilkerson previously resided in Rockville as recently as 2023 following a prior arrest.
