Gaithersburg, MD – Lowell Isaiah Young, 31, of Frederick, and Daron Antonio Banks, 26, of Montgomery Village, were taken into custody and now face several firearm-related charges following an interrupted assault attempt.
The incident took place on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 3, 2025, around 4:30 p.m. Officers from the Montgomery County Police Department’s 6th District Community Action Team were patrolling near the Cider Mill Apartments when they witnessed Young and Banks pursuing another individual through the complex.
As officers approached the scene, the suspects fled in a 2020 Ford Fusion. A check of the vehicle revealed the registration was suspended, prompting a traffic stop near Christopher Avenue and Hellingly Place.
Upon stopping the vehicle, officers spotted a loaded 9mm privately made firearm (PMF), also known as a “ghost gun,” under the front passenger seat.
Both men were arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where they were charged with multiple handgun violations, including possessing a firearm without a serial number and carrying a loaded handgun in a vehicle.
